Lady Corsairs Dominate West LA

For the Women's Soccer team, the goals came rapidly and in flurries as Santa Monica College dominated throughout at home. The afternoon started as sophomore midfielder, Marisa Moore scored an unassisted goal in the 15th minute. Not long after, freshman Daysi Serrano found the back of the net. She now has an eye-opening ten goals on the season.

The Corsairs were just getting warmed up. As the onslaught continued, they added six more goals before the final whistle. The first half ended with freshmen Meredith Gomez capturing her first goal of the season. As the second half began, the goals continued.

In a ten minute span the Corsairs caught fire, and scored four goals in what seemed to be in a blink of an eye. Ashley Martinez, Josseline Espinoza, Erika Pope, and Filippa Struxsjo all scored unassisted goals to put the game out of reach.

In the final minutes Moore found the net, once again, and the game ended with SMC winning 8-0. The Corsairs play again Tuesday, October 24th, 2017 against LA Valley College.
