The Santa Monica Minute: Episode 11

Quick look at events taking place in and around Santa Monica College for the week of October 9, 2017

On Tuesday, October 10th, SMC will be holding the Fall College Fair with over 170 colleges attending. It will be on the quad from 10:30 to 1PM. Take some time to explore and ask a lot of questions!

On Thursday, October 12th, the Santa Monica History Museum on 7th street will be free from 12PM to 8PM. Stop by and see some great exhibits such as the history of KCRW, which is currently in the basement of the cafeteria.

If you didn't know, inside Drescher Hall is a planetarium and on Friday, October 13th at 8PM there will be a showing about the asteroid Bennu. Tickets are $6 and if you go at 7PM you can watch constellations and the movement of the sky.

For those still needing to work on college applications, on Friday October 13th the SMC Library, room 192, come use a computer and if you have any questions then there will be people to help. Times are Friday from 1:30 to 3:30PM and Saturday from 11:30 to 1:30PM

And lastly, on Saturday, Oct. 14th there will be a Pico Block Party at the 18th Street Arts Center from 1 to 4PM. It is free and will have Brazilian dance performances, artist exhibitions, food trucks and live music.
