Corsairs Keep It Tied

The Corsairs continue their tie streak for a third game in a row.

On Friday, the women's soccer team took on the Long Beach City College Vikings at Corsair Field for their fifth game of the season. The final score was 0-0.

While the Vikings played fast and aggressive, the Corsairs' communication and teamwork were able to hold them back. The Corsairs dominated the field with forwards Breanne Maldonado and Roz Tauvaa. Forward Alinna Savaterre received the game's only yellow card, 38 minutes into the first half.

During the second half, the Corsairs continued to push and both teams fought hard to the last second. With a few close calls, Corsair goalie Giorgia Sterza stepped up her defense, along with forward Tia Lucas, who saved the day by blocking a goal.

The Corsairs currently have a record of 1-1-3. Their next game is at home on Tuesday, Sept. 19, against the Golden West College Rustlers at 12:30 p.m.
