What is your greatest sports memory?
“In 2007, my high school team won league.”
If you could have lunch with anybody, who would it be?
“Usain Bolt, because he’s the fastest runner alive.”
What was the last movie you saw?
“Moneyball.”
What is your favorite hobby outside of sports?
“I like going bowling and to movies with friends, but not much besides running.”
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
“That’s easy. Super-speed, because I’m a runner and would win every race.”
If you did not run cross-country, what sport would you play instead?
“I would play baseball, because I played it when I was younger and enjoyed it.”
What is your favorite family tradition?
“Thanksgiving dinner, because you hang out with your whole family.”
What are your plans after attending SMC?
“I am currently applying to California State Northridge and Long Beach.”
In the Southern California Preview meet last Friday, Alvarez finished the four-mile race in 22:46, a good time for such a hot day. This coming Friday, both cross country teams will compete in the Western States Conference Preview at Santa Barbara.
