Santa Monica College's President and Superintendent Dr. Chui L.Tsang hosted a Town Hall meeting last Wednesday. The meeting was open to the public and took place in the Theatre Arts auditorium; the purpose of the meeting was to discuss next year's projected budget dilemmas, along with objectives and principles put forth by the Board of Trustees.

2012 Republican candidates are projected to be successful as long as they can't be linked to Barack Obama.

On January 10, 2011, California Governor Jerry Brown proposed a budget cut of $12.5 billion from state spending due to the $26.6 billion budget deficit. The proposed budget will cut $400 million, a 6.8 percent reduction in funding, from California community colleges.
