To make an album that is so clearly influenced musically by Kanye West, it is an interesting move to also make it a West diss album.

On Tuesday, May 16, Barry Kibrick, host and producer of long-running PBS show “Between The Lines,” gave a lecture on his background in communications and media to a small crowd of people assembled in lecture hall HSS 165.

On Tuesday, May 9th, students swarmed Santa Monica College’s quad for this semester’s biannual Job Fair. Some wore suits and ties, while others dressed casually with resumés in hand. They mingled with representatives from a variety of businesses looking to recruit new workers.

On Tuesday, April 26, HSS 165 fills with students attending a screening of Love Thy Nature, a documentary directed by Sylvie Rokab. The screening was organized in part by Santa Monica College’s Center for Environmental and Urban Studies as a part of Earth Week 2017. The film is introduced by Sheila Laffey, an associate producer, and a film professor at SMC.

The way that we think about economics and the government is changing, as more and more people are noticing the weaknesses in our current capitalistic system. I believe that capitalism is fundamentally flawed and the economic system used by the majority of the world was designed to exploit people.
