Thunderbirds Flake: No Flyover for Santa Monica

The USAF Thunderbirds air demonstration team flew over Southern California on May 15th as a tribute to healthcare and other front-line workers helping to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The original flight plan had the team approaching Santa Monica from the east and then heading over the beaches, before turning south over the bay. What actually happened was the formation turned somewhat east of Santa Monica airport, leaving a lot of disappointed people who’d been waiting on the beaches.
