LA Marathon closures and parking in Santa Monica
Participants in the 30th Annual Los Angeles Marathon this Sunday are expected to arrive on Ocean Avenue at approximately 9:30 a.m., but Santa Monica residents will feel the effects of the race all day. The marathon will shut down San Vicente Boulevard to Ocean Avenue and Ocean Avenue to California Street. The closures will extend one block south and one block east respectively.
The closure of Ocean Avenue continues past the finish line to Olympic Boulevard. and extends east to 2nd Street.
Main Street will be closed between Olympic and Pico Boulevards.
Between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m. Olympic Boulevard after Cloverfield Boulevard will be restricted to westbound traffic only.
7th Street between Olympic and Wilshire Boulevard, 2nd Street between Colorado Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard, and 4th Street between Pico Boulevard and Colorado Avenue will be restricted to northbound traffic during the same time.
All city owned parking lots and structures will be open Marathon day.
Parking structures one through nine will cost $2 per 30 minutes with a $20 maximum fee.
Parking structure 10 and lots 27, 28 and 29 will each have a $15 flat fee.
City lots located along Pacific Coast Highway and lots 4S and 5 on Barnard Way will each cost $10.
Big Blue Bus routes will also be rerouted for the marathon; According to Big Blue Bus's official website, all buses that regularly run on Sundays will remain active with the exception of routes 4 and 9 on BBB's official map.
The regular BBB routes will detour along 11th Street between Wilshire Boulevard and Ocean Park Avenue.
