Corsair athletes named conference players of the week

Quarterback Alfonso Medina and defensive back Rico Wright have been nominated as players of the week by the American Pacific Conference football coaches according to the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) website. Medina was named offensive player of the week after completing 20 of 29, passing for 339 yards and four touchdowns during the Corsairs 33-9 victory against Santa Barbara last Saturday. Wright, who received defensive honors, had two key interceptions in the same game.

Medina is currently ranked 13th in southern California averaging 233.6 passing yards a game and ranked 9th in quarterback efficency with a 162.9 quarterback rating.

The Corsairs next game is against L.A. Southwest on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
